On October 10th, 2024, we celebrated a remarkable milestone - the 25th anniversary of Loreto Centre Crumlin - on World Mental Health Day. Surrounded by cherished members of our community, friends and supporters, we came together to honor this journey and look forward to the future with a renewed commitment to mental health and well-being.

This special day included the premiere of a commemorative documentary, inaugurations of the Phoenix Room and the Pat Colgan Room, and a heartfelt celebration of the thousands of lives we've touched through our work.
A Documentary to Remember
The documentary, presented during the anniversary event, captures the incredible journey of Loreto Centre and its deep impact on our community. It highlights the stories of transformation, resilience, and healing that have taken place within our walls. As Centre Manager, Anca Lupu, noted, “For 25 years, Loreto Centre has been more than just a service provider. It has been a sanctuary, a place where people come to find peace, balance, and support.”
Eugene Banks, our Chairman, beautifully captured the essence of Loreto Centre's work, saying, “It’s not written anywhere that thousands of people have passed through here, but what matters is that they left feeling more at peace, more balanced.” These words underscore the Centre’s impact in a way numbers simply cannot convey.

Inaugurating Two New Spaces for Growth and Healing
To mark this occasion, we also inaugurated two new rooms within the Centre:
The Phoenix Room: Named after the mythical bird symbolizing rebirth and resilience, the Phoenix Room has been transformed from an inaccessible space into a welcoming area dedicated to growth and healing. It is open to the local community for trainings, meetings, individual and family therapy, self-care, and healing events, serving as a place where people can connect and recharge.
The Pat Colgan Room: Dedicated to our first Director of Counselling, Pat Colgan (2008–2019), this room honors his incredible contributions to Loreto Centre’s counselling services. His warmth, humor, and dedication to community well-being left an indelible mark, and his legacy lives on in this space where others can find support and compassion.
A Legacy of Support and Well-being
For 25 years, Loreto Centre Crumlin has been committed to providing invaluable support through counselling, support groups, and well-being programs. Our services have helped individuals navigate life’s challenges, find balance, and build resilience. As we move forward, we reaffirm our dedication to mental health, recognizing that mental health is as important as physical health. We are steadfast in our commitment to breaking down the stigma that often surrounds mental health issues.
Celebrate with Us
This anniversary is more than just a celebration of Loreto Centre’s history; it’s a tribute to every life we’ve touched, every person we’ve supported, and every story we’ve been privileged to be a part of.
