Loreto Centre Statement
In keeping with the Government’s guidelines, (Item No. 15, Mental Health Services, Gov.ie), which classifies the Loreto Centre under the category of essential services, the Loreto Centre will continue providing services to the local community, being the only community-based counselling service in Dublin 12.
As such, the Centre will continue to provide these services during Level 3, 4 and 5, adhering to the HSE health and safety requirements.
The health and wellbeing of our clients, therapists and staff remains at the forefront of all our proceedings.
In this context, the following provisions will apply:
The centre will operate in line with the HSE health and safety guidelines
The counselling service will be facilitated on the premises by appointment only, online or by telephone
Classes will be facilitated online

The Loreto Centre was initially established by the Loreto Sisters in 1998 for
the purpose of providing low-cost adult community education and a back-up counselling service to people in the Dublin 12 and surrounding areas.
The Trustees of the Loreto Centre are the Provincial Leadership Team of the Loreto Sisters (IBVM), Irish Province.
The provision of community education in the Loreto Centre is provided from the perspective of the Loreto educational philosophy.

The Loreto Centre offers a low cost counselling service. The overall aim of counselling is to provide you with opportunities to explore, discover and clarify ways of living in a more satisfying and resourceful manner.
The role of the Counsellor /Psychotherapist is to facilitate your growth in ways which respect your values, life’s journey and capacity for personal freedom.
